Overview


This course presents information on how to do a case study including study design, steps for doing a case study and guidelines for writing case studies. Additional topics include informed consent, interviews, coding data and software, and information on institutional review board approval.

 

Case studies are often the earliest type of research done when we want to record our observations.? This preliminary data can be the basis for the next stage of research and can help you document the benefits of your yoga therapy/teaching.

Julie Staples received a doctorate in Cell and Molecular Biology from St. Louis University. Her research for the past 30 years includes studies with populations world-wide on the benefits of yoga and mind-body medicine. She is Adjunct Assistant Professor at Georgetown University, a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher, and the past Board President of the Guru Ram Das Center for Medicine and Humanology. She is the author of the Yoga chapter in the textbook Fundamentals of Complementary and Alternative Medicine. She published the book titled Reclaiming Life After Trauma.
